You are not wearing THOSE pants with THAT shirt, are you!? Crazy accessories a plus! Friday is AmPark Day – wear your finest AmPark regalia, or anything purple and silver, the school colors.

AmPark DOES have talent!

talentFriday, April 4, saw the 2nd annual presentation of AmPark’s Got Talent, which has already become a favorite PA event for both kids and parents. There was singing, gymnastics, musical performances, and even a magic show. And every grade was represented. The repertoire ranged from classics like “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and the Beatles’ “Let It Be,” to more modern fare from Bruno Mars and the very popular soundtrack to the movie Frozen. Everyone was amazed by the amount of talent up on the stage, and by the sheer chutzpah it takes to get up and perform in front of a group of people. And a very supportive group it was, too, in the best AmPark tradition. Congratulations to all the amazing performers for a job well done!

A Very Hot “Frozen”

Disney-FrozenOn Friday, March 28, the 5th Grade coordinated yet another amazing event, setting a new standard for what constitutes a great movie night. With printed lyric sheets and sing-a-longs to the popular songs from Frozen, the 5th grade really raised the bar for movie night fun and creativity. The movie was very well attended, lots of fun was had, and the 5th grade raised $1,200 towards their end of year activities.

Fun with potatoes!

wits potatoesWITS Chefs Annie and Laurielle were on hand recently giving WITS Bits demonstrations to the children on how to make delicious french fries from scratch! I must confess, I’m not sure that this writer’s children even knew that french fries came from potatoes before this demonstration. And they are both now converts to the virtues of homemade french fries, and can recite the delicious but simple recipe from memory. For more news from Chef Annie and WITS see the attached newsletter, which also includes the french fry recipe in case you missed it.
