About the AmPark Neighborhood School

The AmPark Neighborhood School began as a wish in the hearts of parents at the Amalgamated Housing Cooperative nursery school, grew into an idea, then swelled into a grassroots movement.

We opened in September 2006 with 36 students housed in the Workman’s Circle Building at 3990 Hillman Ave.  We gradually added grades until we reached our current enrollment of almost 300 students. In September 2012, we moved into our own building! We now learn and play on three floors of the beautiful new annex to P.S.95, located at 3981 Hillman Ave.

We are a public school of choice (P.S. 344) with a progressive educational philosophy. Although we began as a neighborhood school serving the residents of the Amalgamated Cooperative and Van Cortlandt Village, we now serve all of District 10 in the Bronx, including Kingsbridge, Marble Hill, Riverdale, Spuyten Duyvil, and more areas.  If your children would benefit from a lot of art and music, and enjoy a project-oriented approach to learning, this is the place!
