Thank you to all the families who continuously support this amazing fundraiser as you do your child’s love for reading. According to Scholastic Reports, the November Book Fair drew in $7,440, which has set the record for the largest book fair at AmPark to date! Because of this amazing success, we will host two additional book fairs in the new year.
Guess who has moved into AmPark? It’s the Hydroponic Tower Garden! The Garden was put together last week and is doing fine. Our Teacher, Scott Davis, is heading the Garden Project for the students sometime in January. The Garden Committee will start sprouting things to add to the garden as a test. Recently, we were given a generous donation of sprouted mixed lettuce plants from Gotham Greens. The plants seem to be doing very well.
One of our most anticipated events of the year is coming soon! The Harvest Festival will be this coming Saturday, November 21. Bring the whole family! Check out the flyer for more details.
If you haven’t gotten a chance to look at the AmPark school survey results from 2014-2015, please see below for important links. In brief: parents and teachers feel really good about our school! (We also included links to other evaluation information.) In any case, you can see why it’s important to take the survey. Let’s see if we can get 100% participation from parents this year!
The AmPark Neighborhood School is an amazing place to be because of its small community, dedicated teachers, and supportive Parents’ Association. We are also fortunate to have school leaders who have a very clear academic vision for our children. Together, we make up a diverse community with one goal in mind, a well-rounded education for our children. This year, we are off to a wonderful start ,and it will only get better with your assistance.
AmPark has received $145.00 from the Amazon Smile program! Please visit the site at smile.amazon.com and select AmPark Parents Association, Inc. as your chosen organization. Share it with your friends and family!
Jillian, our BoxTop Coordinator, would like to thank Dawn, Yamil, Becky, and Crystal for volunteering with the collection. AmPark will be receiving a check for $345.40! Zoe’s class won a party. Another winning class will be announced in the Spring!
BJ’s Wholesale Club
In 2014, AmPark submitted 12 new memberships and 3 renewals. In 2015, so far the school has submitted 7 new memberships and 2 renewals. So the overall memberships so far for the school is 24, for a total of $120. At $5 per membership, that amounts to $120 for the 2 years combined. We can do much better than that! The store in Riverdale will open in January 2016, and the membership can be used for free in any BJ’s location until that location in Riverdale opens. Then the start of the 15-month promotional membership will take effect. See membership application.
VP of Fundraising
The Co-Chairpersons of the Book Fair Committee would like to give a very special thanks to our Principal, Christine, and Assistant Principal, Kelly, as well as all of our AmPark parents, students, teachers, staff, and family members for helping make the Fall 2015 Book Fair such a huge success!!!! Not including last-day sales, we have raised $3,883! Way to go, AmPark!
The fifth graders at AmPark are raising money for our year-end graduation and senior trip expenses. We are selling beautiful handmade wreaths as a fundraiser. For every wreath we sell, our
