In order to provide our students with leveled reading books, we need to assemble them. Please join Christine this summer to help accomplish this task. It’s easy and fun, and it’s a social event for the parents, too!

Fifth Grade Committee Needs You!
Attention current fourth grade parents: In order to comply with the Chancellor’s Regs, we have had to make certain changes in next year’s 5th Grade Committee. We have formed an Interim 5th Grade Committee, which will lay the groundwork for next year’s 5th Grade Committee. If your child will be in 5th Grade next year and you want to have a voice in the planning of what his or her experience will be, please contact William Bird at president at amparkpa dot org.
Farewell Family Tea
Our last Family Tea is scheduled for Friday the 26th. Because it falls on the last day of school and the day is a half day, we’ve decided to extend it. If you can join us between 8:30 and 11:00 AM, please do so. This is a great chance to come in, relax, and talk with other parents. If you are wondering what your kids will be facing next year, this is a great opportunity to ask some questions.
So please join us for coffee, tea, and snacks.
Rec Days
The AmPark Rec Days are taking place this week. Please check the schedule below to see what days you children are scheduled to have 4 periods straight of outdoor play. You will need to send them to school with sunblock/insect repellent and dressed for outdoor play. No swim suits, please!!!

Final PA Meeting and Other Updates
From PA President William Bird:
The end’s in sight; we’re almost there. Graduation was last week and Rec Days are coming up this week. We had a great turnout at our last General Membership Meeting to vote on the budget and say farewell to Maria.
It’s been a great year and we thank each and everyone one of you for your support. The PA is here to support you and the school. Towards that end, we approved some end-of-year expenditures. Christine had made some requests and fortunately we were able to give her the support she desired. We approved summer books for kids; Teachers College units of study in reading for every grade; continued RULER training for Kelly, Bernadette, and Jessica; and Teachers College Institute training for Priya. We also approved purchasing shelving units, exterior bulletin boards, and additional folding tables for PA use as well as shows of gratitude for Sean, the office and security staff, the crossing guards, and the printers whose generosity allowed us to have the amazing printed material we had access to this year.
Pizza and Puzzles with Maria
On Friday, June 19th, a group of “Lucky Auction Raffle Winners” finally got to enjoy some time with Maria before she leaves AmPark. The winners were allowed to bring another lucky guest, to jam to music, eat pizza from Papa John’s, and do and puzzles galore!
Check out the pictures from this fun event:
Loving those healthy ice pops!
As you would expect, we had a great response from the distribution of the healthy ice pops. The flavors were dark chocolate, blueberry, and blood orange. The excitement was they were all dairy free, gluten free, fat free, nut free, and in fact kosher. So everyone who wanted to try them could do so.
They were given to me by Chloe’s soft serve ice cream. So great!
I was so happy spend my last day this year making the students smile.
Chef Marion
Farewell to Maria
Message from William Bird, AmPark PA President:
Dear AmPark Families,
As I’m sure you’ve all heard by now, Maria Correa, our Parent Coordinator, has been promoted to the District Ten Family Support Coordinator. In this position, she will still be involved in our children’s educational experience every day.
I doubt that there is a family who hasn’t been impacted by Maria’s passion, her enthusiasm, and her dedication to AmPark students and families. How many of us have worked on the principle of “If you need something, ask Maria. If you have a question, ask Maria?” She knows the names of every child, who their parents are, and the needs of practically every family. Our students come home with tales of what she did and there is hardly an event where Maria isn’t a contributor.
