From PA President William Bird:
First things first. A big salute to the fifth grade committee for a great movie night last Friday. They have been amazing in the quality of the events they’ve run and we just want to say well done.
The 5th grade committee will be showing Big Hero 6 on Friday, April 17th, their last fundraiser. The doors open at 6 and the movie will start at 6:30. Please come out and show your support. There will be plenty of food, treats and refreshments sold. The admission fee is $5 per family. Thank you so much to each and everyone that has supported us this year. This has been such an amazing year.
Spring Auction Fundraiser tickets to “A Taste of the Bronx & Surroundings” are now available for purchase online at amparkauction2015.zapto.org. If you are unable to purchase your tickets online, please see Maria Correa (AmPark’s Parent Coordinator) in order for her to accept your payment and give you a receipt for your purchase. Auction tickets are $20 in advance (price includes hors d’oeuvres, entertainment, two drink tickets and childcare for current AmPark students). The AmPark PA is also accepting checks made payable to “AmPark Parents’ Association.” If you send a check to the school, please ensure that there is some reference to the auction on the check itself and that it is made payable to “AmPark Parents’ Association.”
Everyone is getting very excited as the event gets closer and closer! Please take a sneak peek at the donations committed thus far. A huge thank you to all the parents and businesses who are helping to support this very important fundraising event. Keep ’em coming!
Greetings Parents, Partners, and Administration of AmPark!
This month we had our first Café Day with our new Chef Partners from Restaurant North. They created a great Hubbard Squash soup with Popped Sorghum and served it in the cafeteria. The students really enjoyed it, and it was made without cream or oil.
AmPark parent Dean Parker is on a mission. He wants to make every child and parent at AmPark aware of hunger and its impact on kids in America. “Sixteen million children experience the sense of being hungry and they don’t need to,” said Dean, who heads the school’s service committee. “Every child can help make a difference.”
