It’s that time of year…the 5th Graders at AmPark Neighborhood School are running a Holiday Wreath Fundraiser. There are a variety of wreaths/garlands/forcing bulbs on sale at our school online website. They are great to decorate outside or inside your homes, or to brighten a loved ones holiday season. The wreaths are fresh and fragrant and handmade in New Hampshire. The prices listed online include shipping direct to your home (anywhere in the continental U.S.). They will begin shipping the week of December 8th. It would be amazing if you could help our 5th Graders so they enjoy their last year of elementary school with pride and joy!
The sale is only running for short time and ends on NOVEMBER 24th, so check it out soon!
The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to AmPark! There will also be food Thursday evening, thanks to the Fifth Grade Committee. It will be a great time to browse and shop for books for your children.

Volunteers needed for our bake sale on October 30! This is a fast event, and we need people from 2:00-3:00 pm. Contact William Bird at president@amparkpa.com.
This is a Halloween-themed bake sale, so we are asking for donations of Halloween-themed snacks and encourage all AmPark cooks to give us your spookiest baked goods. All goods will sell for one dollar.
AmPark is once again participating in the Big Apple Crunch! This is a fun, participatory citywide celebration of healthy eating. Businesses, schools, organizations and individuals in all five boroughs come together to take part in the “crunch heard ‘round the world!” Last year 1,000,000 New Yorkers ate an apple! This year we’ll try and beat our own record. As part of Food Day, the Big Apple Crunch is a way to celebrate food and get New Yorkers thinking about healthy, seasonal eating. We will be sending reminders home during the week of 10/20. Parents, please send in 2-3 apples with your child as a contribution to this healthy initiative! We’ll be biting into our apples around 12 noon!
For more information, please visit bigapplecrunch.squarespace.com or contact Wellness Committee Chair Beth Stonick.
AmPark’s own Dean Parker, last year’s PA president, was quoted in an article in the Riverdale Press. The article describes Chancellor Fariña’s plan to overhaul the evaluation system for schools. Read the article.
