PA Elections and Update
No such thing as a free lunch?
AmPark was featured in the Riverdale Press this week in an article discussing the effort to launch a free school lunch program similar to the current free breakfast program. AmPark’s own Christine Milton was quoted several times in the article, and the children of proud Executive Board members Matt Heenan and Robert Branch were shown in a picture sampling the culinary delights of AmPark’s outstanding lunch program. High-Spirited Dancing
Thanks to everyone who came to the Spring Fling dance party on Friday, May 9. Lots of families turned out and it was a rousing, high-energy success. Many kids were decked out in party finery and had a great time dancing, jumping around, playing with balloons, hanging out with friends, and noshing on pizza, chips, and homemade smoothies. The loud music was apparently too much for our poor old school sound system, which gave in under the relentless dance beats of Chad’s super party playlist, so we hope to be buying a new one in the next couple of weeks. If the intention was to let kids unwind and relax and burn off a little pent up energy after several weeks of intense testing, we’d say “mission accomplished.”
Christine Milton Honored
Our Principal, Christine Milton, was recently recognized by NYS Senator Jeffrey D. Klein as an Outstanding Educational Leader & One of A Select Few Principals in Our District who is a role model that demonstrates superior leadership, excellence in education & a commitment to parental involvement in our schools. Both the Parent Coordinator, Maria C. Correa, and our PA President/CEC Representative, Dean Parker, were present at the event supporting Christine from the sidelines. What a wonderful honor!
